The custom of the Secret Santa door comes from Scandinavia and has a long tradition there. Behind the door lives a little elf who comes out of the enchanted forest in the run-up to Christmas and moves into families' homes to help them prepare for Christmas. But beware, the elf is a nocturnal creature. He sleeps during the day and must never be disturbed behind his door.
